Glucomannan is a soluble fibre and when it is mixed with water it forms a gel. This gel absorbs sugar and starches which slows the body’s digestion of these carbohydrates. This helps to reduce blood sugar spikes. Diabetics have long been recommended to eat foods high in soluble fibre, these foods are referred to as having a low Glycemic Index.
