Are all ZERO products made from Konjac?

No.

Our original Konjac range is made from certified organic Konjac flour. Our newer Low Carb Rice and High Protein products are dry products made with different ingredients to meet specific nutritional goals.

Please check the ingredients and nutrition information on each product’s packaging.

What are ZERO Konjac Noodles?

ZERO Konjac Noodles are a low-calorie and low-carbohydrate alternative to traditional noodles, rice and pasta.

Our Konjac range includes Noodles, Rice, Fettuccine and Lasagna styles. They can be added to stir-fries, curries, soups, pasta dishes and many other meals.

Konjac has been enjoyed throughout Asia for centuries and is naturally rich in glucomannan, a type of soluble fibre derived from the root of the Konjac plant.

What are ZERO Konjac products made from?

Our Konjac products contain three simple ingredients:

  • Purified water
  • Certified organic Konjac flour
  • Calcium hydroxide to help maintain their shape

They are packed in BPA-free packaging.

Are ZERO Konjac products organic?

Yes. Our Konjac Noodles, Rice, Fettuccine and Lasagna products are Australian Certified Organic.

Please note that this certification applies to our Konjac range and does not necessarily apply to every product in the wider ZERO range.

Are ZERO products vegan and gluten-free?

Our Konjac range is vegan, gluten-free and grain-free.

Suitability may vary across our newer Low Carb and High Protein products. Please check the ingredients, allergen statement and claims printed on the individual product packaging before consumption.

Are ZERO Konjac products suitable for low-carb or keto diets?

Our Konjac range is very low in carbohydrates and may be suitable for people following low-carbohydrate or ketogenic eating plans.

Our Low Carb Rice has also been specifically developed as a lower-carbohydrate alternative to traditional rice.

Individual dietary needs vary, so please check the nutrition information on the packaging and seek professional advice where required.

What is the difference between Low Carb Rice and High Protein Rice?

Low Carb Rice has been developed for people looking to reduce their carbohydrate intake while still enjoying a dry rice-style product.

High Protein Rice has been developed for people wanting to increase their protein intake while enjoying an alternative to traditional rice.

These are dry products and are prepared differently from our ready-to-use Konjac range. Follow the cooking instructions printed on each packet.

Can ZERO products help with weight management?

ZERO products may assist as part of a balanced eating plan by providing alternatives to conventional rice, noodles and pasta.

Our Konjac range is low in calories and contains glucomannan fibre, which may help you feel satisfied as part of a balanced meal.

No single food guarantees weight loss. For best results, combine ZERO products with nutritious ingredients such as vegetables, lean protein and healthy fats.

Are ZERO products suitable for people with diabetes?

Our Konjac range is very low in available carbohydrates and may be useful as an alternative to traditional rice, noodles or pasta.

Our Low Carb products may also suit some people managing their carbohydrate intake.

However, individual needs and blood glucose responses vary. Always read the nutrition panel and consult your doctor or Accredited Practising Dietitian for personalised advice.

Are ZERO Konjac products Low FODMAP?

ZERO Konjac products may be suitable in the serving size stated on the packaging.

People following a Low FODMAP diet should pay close attention to portion sizes, as tolerance can vary between individuals. Please consult your dietitian if you are unsure.

I have IBS. Can I eat ZERO Konjac products?

Some people with IBS tolerate Konjac well, while others may be sensitive to increases in dietary fibre.

Start with a small portion, drink adequate water and monitor how your body responds. Seek advice from a qualified health professional if you have ongoing digestive concerns.

Can children eat ZERO products?

ZERO products can be included as part of a varied and balanced family diet when prepared according to the package directions.

Konjac products should be cut into manageable pieces and chewed thoroughly. Young children should always be supervised while eating.

For children with medical conditions, allergies or specialised dietary needs, seek professional advice before introducing a new product.

Do ZERO Konjac products have any side effects?

Konjac is generally well tolerated. However, as it is high in soluble fibre, consuming too much too quickly may cause digestive discomfort, bloating, gas, loose stools or changes in bowel habits.

Start with a smaller serving, chew thoroughly and drink sufficient water.

Konjac should be enjoyed as part of a balanced meal containing other nutritious foods rather than as the sole component of the meal.

How do I prepare ZERO Konjac products?

  1. Open the packet and empty the contents into a strainer or colander.
  2. Rinse thoroughly under running water for approximately 20 seconds.
  3. Drain well and pat dry if needed.
  4. Add directly to your favourite sauce, soup, curry or stir-fry.

For a firmer texture, place the rinsed and drained product into a hot, dry, non-stick pan for approximately one to two minutes before adding your other ingredients.

This helps remove excess moisture and allows the product to absorb the flavours of your meal.

How do I prepare ZERO Low Carb Rice and High Protein products?

Our Low Carb Rice and High Protein products are dry products and must be cooked according to the directions printed on the packaging.

Preparation instructions vary between products, so do not prepare them using the same method as our ready-to-use Konjac range.

What do ZERO Konjac products taste like?

Konjac Noodles, Rice, Fettuccine and Lasagna have a mild, neutral flavour.

They absorb the flavours of sauces, spices, broths and other ingredients, making them suitable for a wide variety of meals.

Why do some Konjac products have an odour when opened?

Konjac products can sometimes have a mild natural aroma when first removed from the packet.

Our Konjac range is made using premium certified organic Konjac flour and purified water to minimise this aroma. Rinsing the product thoroughly under running water before use should remove any remaining scent.

How should ZERO products be stored?

Unopened ZERO products should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Our shelf-stable products do not require refrigeration before opening. Always check the best-before date and storage instructions printed on the packaging.

Do not freeze Konjac products, as freezing can negatively affect their texture.

How should opened Konjac products be stored?

If you use only part of a Konjac packet, place the unused portion in clean water inside a sealed container and refrigerate.

Change the water regularly and consume the remaining product within the period stated on the packaging.

Prepared leftovers should be refrigerated promptly in a sealed container and consumed within an appropriate period based on the other ingredients used in the meal.
